Regulations for Staying in and Visiting the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Żary – the Żary Fara Church
§ 1. Rules for Staying in and Visiting the Fara Church
- Every person visiting or entering the Fara Church is obliged to comply with the safety rules set out in these Regulations and with the instructions of the staff.
- The church may be visited, apart from Holy Masses, services, cultural events or events related to worship, during the hours specified in the schedule published in advance on the Parish website. During this time, visitors may move around the naves. Entrance donation tickets are not required during such visits.
- Guided tours take place on designated days and at designated times, according to the schedule published on the Parish website. Entrance donation tickets are required for guided tours.
- Guided tours are available for a fee. The fees are provided in the monthly schedule, and in the case of tours in a foreign language, they are arranged individually by telephone.
Tours may include:
- individual tourists — on designated days and at a designated time;
- groups — preferably after arranging the date with the guide in advance;
- individual extreme tours;
- extended routes, including the Fara Church and several other churches, according to the schedule published on the Parish website or after arranging the visit with the guide;
- tours in German, English and Italian, preferably after arranging the date in advance.
- In the Fara Church building, it is prohibited to:
- enter areas not intended for visitors;
- litter;
- touch interior furnishings or exhibits;
- eat or drink;
- bring in or consume alcoholic beverages or intoxicating substances;
- smoke tobacco products or electronic cigarettes;
- run or slide on the floors;
- behave loudly, disturb other visitors or create dangerous situations;
- bring large luggage into the Fara Church;
- bring bicycles, scooters or similar riding devices into the Fara Church;
- throw any objects;
- bring firearms, explosives or other objects dangerous to health or life into the Fara Church;
- bring animals inside, except for guide dogs for blind or visually impaired persons and assistance dogs for persons with disabilities;
- move furnishings or other exhibits without permission;
- damage the furnishings of the Fara Church;
- conduct commercial, advertising or political activities;
- photograph or film elements of security systems.
- While staying in the Fara Church, visitors must behave with due solemnity and respect. Visitors are required to wear clothing appropriate to the sacred character of the place.
- When moving around the Fara Church, visitors should pay particular attention to protruding elements, sharp edges, glass elements and places that may pose a risk of crushing, trapping, cutting or other injury.
- The following persons will not be admitted to the Fara Church:
- persons bringing dangerous objects or materials;
- persons under the influence of alcohol, intoxicants or psychoactive substances;
- persons whose clothing is inappropriate for the dignity of the place.
- The dangerous nature of objects brought into the Fara Church is assessed each time by the tourist service staff. A staff member may prohibit an object from being brought into the Fara Church if they consider it dangerous or if it may constitute an obstacle or inconvenience to other visitors.
- Children under the age of 13 may stay in the Fara Church only under the supervision of an adult.
- Parents and guardians are responsible for any damage caused by children under their care.
- School groups may stay in the Fara Church only under the supervision of a teacher or guardian.
- The teacher or guardian of a school group is responsible for the discipline and safety of the persons under their care. In the case of individual visits, parents or guardians are responsible for the discipline and safety of the children who come to the church with them.
- The Parish reserves the right to exclude access to a specific part of the building. Information about restricted access will be made available to visitors in a way that allows them to become familiar with it before acquiring an entrance donation ticket. Excluding part of the building from the tour does not constitute grounds for a full or partial refund of the entrance donation ticket fee.
- The Parish reserves the right to take photographs during tours. If a person does not wish to be photographed, they should inform the guide before the tour begins.
- The Parish reserves the right to make photographs and films available for public and commercial use.
§ 2. Personal Data Protection
Pursuant to Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation of 27 April 2016:
- The controller of personal data is the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Żary, plac Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego 4, 68-200 Żary, Poland.
- Personal data contained in the form concerning extreme tours will be processed in order to enable the use of the building, namely the Fara Church in Żary, pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR.
- Personal data will be stored for the period required under the relevant provisions of law.
- Users have the right to request access to their personal data from the controller, as well as the right to rectification, erasure or restriction of processing, and the right to data portability in accordance with the GDPR.
- Users have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
- Providing personal data is voluntary; however, refusal to complete the form concerning extreme tours will result in refusal to provide the service.
§ 3. Final Provisions
- Acquiring an entrance donation ticket to the Fara Church constitutes acceptance of these Regulations.
- The Regulations are available on the website and in the Parish office.
- Failure to comply with these Regulations constitutes grounds for asking the visitor to leave the Fara Church. A person who has been asked to leave the Fara Church due to non-compliance with the Regulations is not entitled to a refund of any costs incurred.
- The Fara Church in Żary reserves the right to amend these Regulations.
§ 4. Duties of the Guide
- The guide’s duties include:
- preparing visitors before entering the church, including explaining the rules of conduct inside the building;
- moving only along designated routes;
- intervening, for example by issuing a warning, and in extreme cases notifying the police, if inappropriate behaviour is observed among the persons or groups being guided, especially if they fail to comply with the prohibitions.
- The guide has the right to refuse admission to the entire group or to individual members of the group if they are dressed inappropriately, in particular persons:
- whose clothing contains elements offensive to others on the grounds of belief, religion, skin colour, nationality, ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability or political views;
- whose behaviour offends others on the grounds of belief, religion, skin colour, nationality, ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability or political views.
- The guide is obliged to inform visitors as soon as possible about any change in the time or date of the tour due to circumstances beyond the guide’s control.
Appendix No. 1. Extreme Tour
- Extreme tours take place only after prior arrangement with the guide.
- Only adult tourists may participate in an extreme tour, in groups of up to 4 people. Larger groups are not permitted.
- The fee for the extreme tour must be paid in cash before the route begins.
- The price includes a disposable coverall to protect clothing from dirt, gloves and the loan of a flashlight.
- Comfortable clothing and appropriate flat-soled footwear are required. The guide has the right to refuse to start the tour if they consider the footwear inappropriate, for example flip-flops or high heels, and posing a risk to the visitor’s safety.
- Before the tour begins, the visitor is required to sign an appropriate statement confirming full awareness of the nature of the route being undertaken.
- During the tour, live streaming and taking photographs or videos in places other than those indicated by the guide are prohibited.
- If visitors violate the Regulations, the guide may stop the tour at any time without refunding the fee paid.
- The tour is available only to persons who are sober and not under the influence of any intoxicating substances.
- In the case of an extreme tour, all rules contained in the Regulations for Staying in and Visiting the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Żary – the Żary Fara Church apply.
Appendix No. 2. Tour of Several Churches
- A tour of several churches takes place only after prior arrangement with the guide or according to the schedule.
- In the case of a tour of several churches, all rules contained in the Regulations for Staying in and Visiting the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Żary – the Żary Fara Church apply.
